Hamamatsu MPPC

We would like to thank HAMAMATSU company for providing us with eight MPPS’s for the Radiation experiment!

The eight MPPC’s (Multi-Pixel Photon Counters) pixels are small avalanche photodiodes. These MPPC’s will be used in our CubeSat prototype. Here we use eight slabs of scintillator plastic, where incident cosmic rays result in the excitation of photons. These photons are then led to the MPPC’s via an optical fiber. There, they result in breakdowns in the individual APD’s, which in turn results in a measurable current.

Thank you HAMAMATSU!

PR4 New Lab

We would like to thank Radboud Radio Lab for offering PR4 a Lab space.

PR4’s lab space entails an extra room for our team. We can use this space for studying, workshops and meetings. Furthermore, the lab provides us with the space to store our equipment.

In this picture, there is some of our equipment; a vacuum chamber, oscilloscope, and a signal generator for testing.

Thank you RRL!

PR4 launch in March 2023

We are happy to announce that PR4, a collaboration between students from Radboud Radio Lab and TU Eindhoven, has been officially selected to fly a payload on the REXUS31/32 sounding rocket for the German-Swedish student programme REXUS/BEXUS in March 2023!

The REXUS/BEXUS programme is realised under a bilateral Agency Agreement between the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Agency (SNSA). The Swedish share of the payload has been made available to students from other European countries through the collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). Experts from DLR, SSC, ZARM and ESA provide technical support to the student teams throughout the project. EuroLaunch, the cooperation between the Esrange Space Center of SSC and the Mobile Rocket Base (MORABA) of DLR, is responsible for the campaign management and operations of the launch vehicles.

We  look forward to our participation! Congratulations to all teams!
